This is not an idea, more a concept. After reading ‘Nudge‘, ‘Predictably Irrational‘ or ‘The Now Habit‘ (not sure which) and meetings with a friend who was struggling with his bills made me realize that some don’t have the financial literacy to accumulate wealth.
Everything about making money online is about making money quickly, buying bitcoin and waiting for it to go to the moon, but most of the people I know who made a lot of money they made it through unsexy ways. It’s about investing, spending less than you earn and studying to have a well-paid job or train to grow your career.
For most, saying they need to spend less than they earn is pretty boring and cutting their 200$+ a month on cable and their 100$+ a month phone bills is thought to be an aberration. Reframe spending less to win one million in XX years (20, 25, 30 years), then saving is not about cutting pleasure today but about putting enough money in your savings today to have a significant nest egg in the future.
Sure one million nowadays doesn’t look like a lot of money like it did before, but you need to make your first million to make another one. Since with a X% you should make another million again in X year, the first step should be getting it.
Most money conscious people either read blog related to where they are with their money there the getRichSlowly&simpleDollar if you’re thinking more about saving (paying dept, cutting cable, making your own soap) or Iwillteachyoutoberich which focus more on making more money (side hustle, getting a better job, creating income) or the stock bro with motley fool, morning brew, etc.
At least getting people to find their money niche by making them aware they have a problem and be more conscious about this. Perhaps a newsletter, Youtube series (or channel), a blog. This is, however, a lot of work, having to write all this article and getting people interested.
Making money?
This idea is not really geared towards making money, it’s more about making people more conscious of their problems and taking action to fix it. Sure affiliate link to other blogs, newsletter or information products would help but the core should be helping people out.
